Leader

A leader is one who organizes people for a common purpose, motivates them to achieve that purpose and ensures that the goal is achieved by the quickest but the righteous path. Thus the leader must be able to speak to people about his/her ideas, convince them, get them excited about the job and solve their problems whenever required. Hence a leader needs to be mature, wise and rational as also well-informed and competent in the field of work that he is leading.
In stage 1 the student has to give a test in his knowledge of leadership skills. Stage 3 is about the chosen students getting to lead a group of volunteers through various tasks during the main two-day event of Stimulus. The student is not supposed to boss around, neither should he/she be carrying the burden of others. Effective leadership, effective time management, positive attitudes and presence of mind are important at this point.
Finally, an interview, may be conducted to decide the winner. The jury may ask questions about the students personal beliefs and ideas or about opinions about famous leaders, etc. to judge. Top 10 percentile will get a certificate and a a prize while the topper will get the Abhinav Star.

Know-The-Values  -  Understanding Leadership   (Std 8 To 12)

The online assignment containing some objective questions and some subjective ones, will test the values needed for leadership. Situations will be described and the student has to decide his/her actions or judge others'. Top 20 percent of the students will proceed to the next stage.

Be Valued  -  Evaluation By Teachers   (Std 8 To 12)

The student will be asked to submit two recommendations from two teachers - one presently teaching him/her and one who taught him/her in the past. Student must ask two teachers to fill the reco forms (available on the website) and return them to us, maintaining confidentiality. (i.e. the student must not see them) First 5 ranks proceed to the next level.

During Stimulus, there are several tasks to be performed - Logistics, F&B, Stage Mgmt, Tech Support & Tour Guides. Each Leader candidate will be given a certain task for a few hours and his performance will be rated by observers. His skills in handling people & conflicts and thinking on his feet will be tested.
Students who top this round will be then interviewed on their personal beliefs and views about well-known leaders. The top 10 percentile will receive certificates & prizes, while the topper gets the Abhinav Star.
